Patents, Trademarks, Certification:

These products are protected by a strong portfolio of patents and trademarks. There are 9 US patents already issued and there are additional patents pending in the US, Canada and the EU. Each patent is very elaborate and detailed and the claims are quite broad. The patents include both design and utility embodiments so the products and methods and results are protected. Additionally, current pending applications claim precedence to the first patent protecting a multitude of potential divisional patents that were disclosed but not originally claimed. Additionally, there are currently more than 200 forward citations for this IP.

VentBoard™ has already been manufactured and used on a model home. Both VentBoard™ and DuctBoard™ are presently allowed to be used under the provisions of the present IRC, however, specific certification by industry organizations would be beneficial. Footless Forms™ are also code compliant under the IRC. Both VentBoard™ and DuctBoard™ sheathing products have been tested under ASTM D3403, the standard for sheathing by the University of Maine’s Advanced Technology and Composite Center.
